Creating Textures in Encaustic

Explore encapsulation of mixed media, relief and 3D approaches towards expanding your knowledge of  Encaustic. Upcycling and collage will be explored in this 3 day workshop.


To inspire and educate the many possibilities of encaustic, a power-point presentation will be given of artists incorporating a textural approach to their painting process..


If you want to expand your creativity, this course is for you!

June 13, 14 & 15 10-16h

Encaustic and paper

Explore different methods of working with encaustic and paper to include Japanese papers and encaustiflex.      Techniques explored will include image transfer, suminagashi,  gum arabic resist, trace monotype and use of gel plate in this 3 day workshop.


To inspire and educate the many possibilities of encaustic, a power-point presentation will be given featuring artists working with encaustic and paper..

During these afternoons, students will learn the necessary techniques to begin an encaustic practice.  All basics will be covered to include safe practices in the encaustic studio. We will progress to working with transparencies, building textures, encapsulation and use of stencils.

Students wishing to use continue to develop their personal work can join in these sessions.


100 Euros per session



All classes are conducted using R&F handmade paints


These are small workshops with personal attention – spaces are limited.
